The Nearness of the Muslims to the Christians

In Ethiopia today, according to the International Yearbook and statesmen's who's who, one-third of the population is pagan. The charter granted to the monks of the monastery of St. Catherine, near Mount Sinai, dates from AD 627. By it the Prophet secured to the Christians important privileges and immunities. Muslims were prohibited under severe penalties from violating and abusing what was there in order. Christian women married to Muslims were not subjected to compulsion or annoyance on that account.
