The Complexity of Race and the Experience of School

Alexis: What struck me today about our conversation was the way in which so much of what Rumi was talking about, particularly in terms of race and the experience of school, applied as much to teachers as students. There's actually a fairly recent book called From the Ashes, written by Jesse Tistle, Métis Cree author and academic in Canada. Alexis: I think for me it was really like the complexity of those issues and how they're ingrained historically. We'll be back next month when we're talking about intimacy and relationships.
