Hayek's Fear of the Future
Hayek feared that what was undertaken for a crisis would long outlast the crisis. He thought it was because of 'technological determinism' which pre-determines political control. It's an argument that persists into the 21st century in relation to digital technology, he says. Hayek didn't know there would ever be a personal computer and no one can know the future.
