The Foundation of the City of Rome

At the birth of Rome we find a religious ceremony where Romulus is veiled as a priest binding together several tribes and it's they're bound together by throwing all of their sacred soil into the same in the same plot of earth. This foundation of the city represents the largest and most powerful association so far at the level of the federated structure of the polytheistic religion. The public life if wasn't conceived of for the benefit of the many or for all men you couldn't join once the tribes had associated into the city.
