Ashley: In Greek culture, we'll say the pre-Socratic society was one largely characterized by a mythos that mythology ruled. But once the Socratic man enters stage, and this isn't just for the Greeks, but for all cultures, you know, from Chinese it was Lao Tzu,. For the Faustian West, it was Rousseau. And what you have is the transition from a mythos into logos. A progression from the aristocratic to the democratic from the few great to the many vulgar.
