Augustus created a working group of 30 members, representing the quiestors, praetors and consuls. He then turned his attention to matters of imperial administration. Augustus pushed for other wealthy romans to join him in improving communications. Had augustus not instituted these reforms, it is unlikely that the empire would have lasted for as long as it did.
