Farnabosus II was the first official Seitrap of the Farnesid dynasty. His great-grandfather, Artabazos, was the great uncle of Xerxes. He served as a general in the Persian army during the Greco-Persian Wars. This office was passed down to his three descendants: Farnabosus I, Farnakis II, and finally FarnabosUS II.
