What Is a Junk Fee?
I think it comes first to the definition of a junk fee. A junk fee in the way it's being described now by the president is a fee that's not associated with value back to the customer. For example, when you go to an ATM with your current card that we don't support, it's out of our network, we charge a fee for that usage and the ATM operator charges the fee. But the reason we do that is because it completely subsidizes the in network so that we can give customers access to no fee ATM withdrawals. And so that's an example of free.
