The Fed's Legal Tender Laws
The problem with the Fed in particular is that it benefits from the legal tender laws. If you insist, or I insist, that you have to pay me legal tender, it's enforceable. So there is a benefit the Federal Reserve has by ruling the money supply. And that abridges the rights of us all.
