The Problem of Inertia in a Body - Einstein's Fourth Paper
Einstein's theory of special relativity proved that time and distance were not constant after all. It had implications for smoke detectors, nuclear power plants, exit signs, or radiocarbon dating. But Einstein also wanted to explain how you can tell if you're in motion on an accelerating frame of reference. He came up with his famous equation E equals MC squared - energy at rest times speed of light.
