Florida Supreme Court - I Love You, Sonshine Tayt
The people of florida adopted, through a ballot initiative, the amendment for changing the constitution to restore voting rights. The Florida supreme court issued an advisory opinion reading into that decision by the people a requirement that all fines and fees be paid before voting rights be restored. We see versions of that elsewhere, where these majoritarian processes can, in fact, be used to protect rights, and not only to undermine them.
