In the airline industry, and as well as in the maritime world, we have this classic graybeard problem. We make ourselves vulnerable iff we think we just have to gain an efficiency ar handling routine events,. That means that when we move into non routine situations, were sometimes are helpless. So you do have people with experience retiring. One thing you can do is try various knowledge management approaches to capture their experttet. I'm not althat enthusiastic about their approaches, because once you've captured it, i don't often see people going into the data base to try to dig it out or even rememberig that it's there.
