The Wedding of Cana
The wedding of Cana is in John 2, and then the story about Nicodemus and being born again by water in the spirit is John 3. And then the Bread of Life discourse that we've been talking about, it is John 6. So that's a beautiful way of seeing how that wedding of CanA story sets up both John 3 on baptism and John 6 on the Eucharist. And it culminates on the cross. When Jesus' side is pierced, what comes forth, water and blood, it's from the open side of Christ on the cross that the church is born.
