The Layers of Storytelling

There's something very layered about it even though the voice is consistent throughout. It says make believe as this father who's in America, right? That's mythical land that somehow he's there doing business and they're here playing with their dolls. Made me think also if Tonya's doll that doll broke an arms and smushed face sitting behind the shoes. What is this? So many, so many metaphors.
