The Origins of Christianity in Ireland

The conversion from paganism to Christianity was a slow, often dangerous process. The popular story of the Irish conversion to Christianity is based around St. Patrick. But as early as 431, Pope Celestine I sent a bishop called Palladius to what we call at the time, the Irish believing in Christ. Next we will look at what the so-called barbarian society this Palladius found looked like when he arrived.
