You Know You Can't Sustain Expansive Growth
Jeffrey West: In the 70s economists said there's no evidence that where the system will not be sustainable. He says they haven't taken into account innovation we innovate ourselves out of this and that was true in Malthus's time when he didn't realize agriculture would grow so fast. The question is how long it takes to build up for something that is truly not sustainable, asks West. Jeffrey West: I think all those previous things were wrong but there's a price you pay for that you don't solve the problem by innovating what you are doing is postponing the problem because you're going to have to do it again.
