There is a preposterous beat in Paul, mall cop to where he goes to a convention and there's a mystery keynote speaker and he thinks it could be him. That is not exactly what happens here, but it's what I've thought of. Maybe the family man doesn't come because of the Corinthian so that the Corinthian can give this keynote address. Or maybe the family man didn't come so that Rose and Gilbert have a place to stay.
