The Indeterminacy of Translations
In so far, ther can no ground for saying which of the two glaringly unlike translations of individual sentences is right. The datais the observation, not the web of the belief that you we're not fitting sentences to data though. We don't fit individual sentences to data. That's what he's saying. But my understanding was two sentences could fit the data equally well. And what fits the data. So seth was interpreting that as like the mass of beliefs that we're talking about, the web of belief and you coul tweak one of them d as long as it doesn't disrupt the rest of the web too much.
