Is Analysing Worthwhile?

The material's engineer on the show. Last time we had a material's engineer, i asked him how we were doing it turning lead into gold. Has anything changed since then? I'm in a guess not, because we're not that good at this and we never will be. There's been a litle bit of resurgence in hardware recently with the low cost pe c b manufacture and so on. You don't think people will be more interested in going back into more physical stuff overtime? It just pays better.
