What Causes Violence in New York City?
Poverty creates the conditions where social norms start to break down. It's harder for people to come together, and that then leads to higher levels of violence. The stop and frisk era in bloomberg helped reduce crime a lot. But i don't know that social cohesion was the major emphasis.
