How Do You Begin With the End in Mine?
There's a huge literature showing that adult problem solving is predicated on human play. So the other executive functions would self directed emotion, self motivation and planning. Their forms of mental play where we take information apart and recombine it in our mind are based on children's play. And i think there is a functional level of executive functioning that you have to attain. If you get past that, even if you don't make it to the normal bench mark, you're still going to function ok. But if you dont get there, then i think you're going to be in trouble.
