Strategic Competition in the United States
Small states are almost being removed from the conversation as active and independent players that have their own interest. The united states is framing these decisions to them in terms of us, strategic competition. It doesn't show respect, necessarily, to that country's position and that country's interests. And so us policy makers, it's really important for them to take into account what's in us interest but also when they're messaging to some of the smaller states.
