The Nature of Time and Love

Augustine: Distance from the father's house is not to be measured sociologically. It's to be measured in terms of the sorrow of the soul. The death of the friend, who Augustine calls another self, which is what constitutes human grief. So he wants to give a little lesson about the nature of time and love. If we understand time structurally, we can understand how it is not an enemy but a friend if we learn to love rightly.
