What's Happening in Ukraine Is Genocide Period?

French President Macron says that it's better to use the term war crimes while British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said Russia's behavior in Ukraine doesn't look far short of genocide. One of the reasons for this cautious language and weariness is that once a state believes genocide is occurring, they have an obligation to investigate, prosecute, and punish. All I have to say is there are rights and obligations that come with using the actual word if you're a nation state. On the other hand, if you are a scholar, you don't have the same constraints. Of course, researchers and scholars have their own ideologies and incentives, but they don't represent nation states in the same way as nations do
