A friend of mine, I can't name them used to do fish surveys for this. He would go out and they had a spot out in the woods where they would have to dump it all. So he would come home, get his own vehicle, get his cooler full of ice and promptly zip back out there and get all the white fish and northerners and perch and get them all filleted up and give them out to everybody.
