What Is Tritium?

Tritium is a radioactive isotope of hydrogen. It has a half-life of 12.3 years, or thereabouts in its normal form in tritium-contaminated water. Most people agree that you need to go through 10 half-lives before any of your radioactive constituents are rendered harmless.
