How I Learned to Be a Journalist in Shreveport, Louisiana

I truly learned how to knock on doors and dig up documents by moving to Louisiana. I was a news assistant at the New York Times before that. So, yeah, I think just having more agency when you're the person who has to write this big story. You've got to turn it in. It's your byline. And it just teaches you to really dig and and to how to both have like the people skills to get people to talk to you.
