How to Track Your Unit Economics
The unit economics is how much money does it cost to get and keep a user. If you pay $50 for the customer and they only give you $30 back over their lifetime, then you lose money on each customer. And so I think some startups have failed at scale because they've grown without paying any attention to the unit economics. But when that flip occurred, Amazon became unstoppable.
