Homo Erectus - A New Fossil Found in South Africa
In the early 1960s we had ossalopithecus in South Africa and on the other hand we knew about Homo erectus mostly from Indonesia and China. There was immediately quite a discussion all the way through the 60s whether yes or no there was actually room to fill a gap. The sun Richard of Mary started working for himself in Kenya so he started to explore the area around Lake Turkana in the north of Kenya. Within five, six years they found an absolute treasure trove of fossils broadly speaking from between two and 1.5, 1.4 million years ago.
