The Negative Incentives of Peer Review

Van Nuys: The papers that I value the most are some of the ones that certainly wouldn't make any like citation list or anything like that. And then on the flip side to get to what you said, John, or they're going to be papers which, you know, have been cited a lot. But we're held to get published, right? Van Nuys: A pre-print sort of system where this could be publicly peer reviewed would be so much better than having the academic process change the nature of the science.
