The Last Stop on the Highway Centipede
The sauna-like weather is thought to be controlled by an assassinated god whose lifeless body fell on the controls turning them all the way to human. The ambient magic of the area seems somehow wrong as if in a minor key. They say Lera Cat is sinking into the nearby standing sea but as you feel your thirst recede with every breath you can't help but wonder if that might just be a lateral move. Young elves and preposterously ornate dresses crowd the streets hiding their heavily made up faces behind ornate hand fans depicting some of history's most sexually optimistic scenes. We're not going to follow it but there's something there. A different story perhaps.
