What Is the Sign of the Prophet Jonah?
Jesus draws particular attention to the relationship between the heart and the tongue, a common theme in wisdom literature. The themes here might also relate to the healing and exorcism that has provoked this discourse in the first place. In a similar manner, the people who are accusing him of casting out demons by the power of beelzebel are displaying the failure of their faculties as a result of their demonically oppressed hearts.
