Open Source Software Is a Business to Business Thing

Open source has almost no effect on the actual business model that's what's always been surprising to me unless your business model is to not develop something novel. I meet a lot of engineers who have the belief of if you build it they will come. You can't be the quiet guy in the corner and then let some super marketing guy just coming up like this is my thing that I made up but you can't let him do that. It does give you also some marketing power because now people are like hey if you heard about likes polymerase B-vitamins, there could kind of happen here. And so hopefully going to be more companies like GitLab, MongoDB and Nextflow
