Congenital Long QT Syndrome
Long QT syndromes are usually not things that you can see on an echocardiogram. There is considerable overlap between certain folks who have inherited cardiomyopathies and people who have inherited channelopathies. It could have just been a brew and, oh, okay, it was something totally unrelated to this QTC. But boy, you don't know, right? And maybe it was some a little electrolyte abnormality that pushed that kid with a congenital long QT over the edge that it then became a malignant kind of problem.
