The Importance of Public Schools

I agree that ideally our public schools would be a place where every child can get a quality education. But I also do understand, especially in these situations with the black families, it's like my kids don't go to school with black kids. They're not able to reach their greatest potential because like teachers don't believe in them. There's a really interesting history of the public schools in Los Angeles. When my grandma lived here in the 50s, the public schools were really good. And then in the 80s, they got horrible and all the rich people pulled their kids out of school and brought them to private school. So basically people were not paying taxes in the same way anymore.
