Clement of Alexandria - A Different View of Religious Art

Clement of Alexandria was not universally opposed to art with religious themes. Clement supported religious art as long as it was somewhat vague in its symbolism. But while the members of the Alexandrian school may have had lots of theoretical objections to religious art, this did not translate to what common people believed.
