He was a little bit self-satisfied. He would start hanging out with the Beatles. The whole Monterey pop thing where he talked about the Warren Commission, you think that wouldn't be such a big deal. It's a hippie music festival in 1967. But it did really annoy the other guys in the band. And also, if you watch the Monterey pop footage, the other birds, they sound great, but he's kind of a stage hog. So I think part of him was ready to leave at the same time."
