The Metaphor of Social Media
There's a kind of a techno utopianism that's implied in the very concept of social media. There are definite benefits not only to social media platforms but to algorithmic media and technology more generally, he says. Problems with our social media platforms are problems with the political and economic mode of production under which they're being developed and organized according to him. It's capitalism that's making us antisocial it's neoliberal capitalism in particular with making us competitive and individualistic in many different ways for me this is an important point.
