The Importance of Context in Strategy
A lot of engineering culture is about showing people how smart and clever you are via your solution to a problem. The goal isn't to appear smart, it's to have something that will work as a business. So I would focus on getting the context right. Another strategic idea I wish I understood nine years ago is that software is fractal.
