The only realistic set of ideas to hold together modern diverse societies in a way that allows them to thrive is philosophical liberalism, he says. To me you can be a bidenite on economic policy orYou can be a Reaganite economic policy or you can be FDR and economic policy - broadly speaking all of that is compatible with philosophical liberalism. Some of those forms of liberalism are preferred to others, right? I have my preferences within those sets of economic policies, but it seems to me these are both sides of the diagonal.
