The Story of John Steinbeck

Steinbeck stopped there in the fall of 19 60 to witness history, public school desegregation and the bitter response of many white folk. Steinbeck was just passing through. Our guide in new orleans Was a child at the time. He lived that story day after day. It's hard to imagine that anybody would want any of these kids to fail. This is my story.
