The Importance of Compassion in the First Minister's Politics

I think anyone who is going to be the first minister now and if they're charismatic if they know how to hit deal with the media they're going to get a lot of attention. We will know who they are just like Nicholas sturgeon before 2014 yeah but you mentioned earlier in the context of being a refugee choosing to go to scottland there was an element of compassion that she brought wasn't there to all of her politics. She always tried to make the SMP into this kind of green progressive party and actually what unites the SMP is a very broad party  what unites them is this promotion for independence not all of these social policies.
