The Studios Are Not Willing to Give Up on the Writers' Rights
Writers want to be spending more time on set, especially up and coming writers. All of these things are things that the studios absolutely do not want. They're used to getting away with 3% increases in the last couple negotiations. That would be below inflation if that happened this time. So the macro stuff is all pointing to strike yet unlike in previous negotiations, we're not getting leaks from inside the room.
