CRISPR and the Lignin Problem

A team of researchers used CRISPR to edit multiple genes associated with production of Lignin. They grew a bunch of baby trees that they hoped had less of it and then harvested them. If the trend holds, more efficient papermaking could be possible by 2040. Researchers think they found the first evidence of a rock that got flung off Earth and then returned to Earth thousands of years later.
