The Second Pillar of Influencing Others
People that influence others are most often those who can connect where the person feels safe in the conversation, they feel listened to. And so even though you think you don't need that part of the conversation, that personal part, if your goal is to influence other people, I would suggest that you actually really do need to focus on the personal connection aspect of the exchange. That's when you start to have this influence that you could shift some of their thought pattern, you can be an influencer.
