Tolkien's World in the Hands of Amazon
Tolkien would have hated a company like Amazon. He saw industrial capitalism and mega corporations as threats to human flourishing. I don't think Peter Jackson was trying to change or truncate or distort Tolkien's trilogy. To say that Amazon doesn't understand it is an understatement. And not only do they not understand it, they're trying to destroy it. They want to destroy the second age of Middle-earth.
