The Complexity of Ecosystems

There are no apex predators left. We've driven them all to extinction and the biggest apex predator we've got pretty much is the fox in Britain now. Even for those not scared of wolf attacks, there's sometimes an anxiety around rewilding that these kinds of interventions into ecosystems can have wide arranging and somewhat unpredictable effects. But even if wolves are off the table for the foreseeable future, there have been tentative plans amongst rewilders to reintroduce other apex predators.
