Landownership in the kis quite em a lot of it dates back to the enclosure act, which is in the 18 hundred or maybe even earlier. And there was er a piece of legislation called the agricultural holdings act, which enshrined in law the rights of tenant farmers. A and obviously, short term tenants have, you know, turned over land very many times. If you're a new farmer, you can apply to the bank to get entitlements of you're renting land,. e, but if you can't get them granted from the bank, you have to buy them from somebody that has excess entitlements.
