Is It the Americans or the Taiwanese Government?
Bonnie Glaser: I agree with Steve that the attitudes of the people in Taiwan are very important. We have not yet talked about Taiwan's presidents, Tae-Ying-wen, who was inaugurated earlier this year. She has made it quite clear that she wants to preserve the status quo in relations with Beijing. And the people of Taiwan in polls generally support that position. If they were given the option to say China wouldn't attack, if you declared independence, yes, they would choose independence.
