How to Work With Your Body When Your Thinking Isn't Working
Most therapists are only trained in the thinking aspect of mental health, and the body is completely ignored. So if your thinking isn't working, recognize step one, i have a body. Step two, whether or not i think it should feel unsafe right now, my body feels unsafe. Step three, the language of safety is not logic or thinking. The language of safety are things like sensations, like movement, like connection. holding ice cubes is a cold sensation that will actually help your brain hit the brakes a little bit.
